Hot Springs Fire Department to Lift Burn Ban May 8

May 7, 2020 – The Hot Springs Fire Department will lift the burn ban and begin issuing burn permits starting at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2020.

Hot Springs residents can obtain burn permits at the Central Fire Station, 310 Broadway, and the Lakeshore Fire Station, 220 Lakeshore Drive.

·         The residential burn permit is free, and may only be used as per the conditions on the permit. The permit must be obtained by the owner/occupant of the residential property where the burn will take place. Proof of ownership or occupancy must be verified by driver’s license or recent utility bill statement.

·         The commercial or second-party persons permit is $25, and may only be used as per the conditions on the permit. To obtain the permit, the individual must go to the Fire Marshal’s Office at the Central Fire Station, 310 Broadway. In some instances, the fire marshal may need to visually inspect the site or materials to be burned before issuing a permit.

The hours to obtain a permit are

·         Residential: Every day, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
·         Commercial: Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
