Hot Springs RC Flying Club to host National Model Aviation Day Celebration
Hot Springs RC Flying Club (HSRCFC) will host a fundraiser in support of the Wounded Warrior Project and to celebrate National Model Aviation Day, on August 16th, 2014 in support of the Academy of Model Aeronautics mission to promote the development of model aviation as a recognized sport and worthwhile recreation activity. The AMA serves as official national body for model aviation in the United States. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the nonprofit organization Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), and will support a full range of programs and services for this generation of injured veterans and their families.
The public is invited to celebrate National Model Aviation Day with the members of the Hot Springs RC Flying Club at the RC field in Cedar Glades Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas from 9:00 AM to 3:00PM August 16th. There will be a $15 landing fee for the pilots. A BBQ lunch of burgers and hot dogs will be available for $5.
Proceeds from the landing fee and lunch will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Any other donations raised for flying events, buddy box flying and “passing the hat“, etc. will also go the Wounded Warrior Project.
Our radio control flying club field is located in Cedar Glades Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas. We currently have over 45 members, who are always ready to welcome and assist new pilots.
We are a non profit, open membership Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) chartered club (#676) and our dues pay for airfield improvements, maintenance and all social activities.
The Academy of Model Aeronautics, founded in 1936, is dedicated to the recreational, educational and scientific pursuit of model aviation with 2,400 clubs throughout the United States, including Puerto Rico and Guam.
