There will be several community service projects planned for that day, including work at parks, non-profit organizations and schools. Community Peace Festival

This peace festival and cultural fair is the local celebration for the International Day of Peace which falls on September 25 each year. Sponsored by REGARD, admission is free to the public. SEEDS OF PEACE features a variety of hands-on peace activities for children and adults. Learn to play hand bells on the spot; fold origami cranes for peace, make a "come together" wreath, be part of a drumming circle, learn an Israeli dance, make a butterfly for the Houston
Butterfly Project, learn how the peace dove got it's name, listen to peace stories with Miss Katie from the Garland County Library, walk through the peace labyrinth, see hundreds of "seed packet" designed by Lake Hamilton School third graders. Vending will include: fresh squeezed lemonade, tea cakes, peanut brittle and popcorn balls, Indian appetizers and finger foods and assorted sweets, locally made soaps, scrubs and lotions, journals and chair massages. A suspected other woman, hypnotism, the notorious Santa burglar Kris Kreigle and his gun toting fiancee, and a confused policeman add up to a rollicking tale that is hilarious Christmas or anytime entertainment.
